Award
The Debbie Duncan Scholarship is a vocal performance scholarship presented to an applicant at McNally Smith College. The scholarship is renewable as long as the student achieves a grade point average of 3.0 for each semester’s work and enrolls full-time during each academic year (up to four years).
About Debbie Duncan
Debbie Duncan has always valued the importance of both of her careers - as a performer and music educator. One of the country's most respected Jazz vocalists, Debbie has opened for and/or performed with Herbie Hancock, Stephane Grapelli, Miles Davis, Bob Seger, Mitch Ryder, Bobby Watson, Mark Murphy, Marlena Shaw, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Joe Henderson, Jimmy McGriff, and John Hendricks to name a few.
Debbie moved to Minneapolis after 10 years working the LA nightclub circuit. She has received numerous Minnesota Music Awards and was the first recipient of the "Perpetually Outstanding Performer" award. Debbie is a faculty member at McNally Smith College.
Scholarship applications are due March 1, 2010 for the 2010-2011 school year.
