Sound Capture and Production I (SCAP I) will introduce students to the basic processes of recording, processing, mixing and editing music and audio with an emphasis on techniques that will benefit the songwriter, composer, producer, or remixer who works in a home studio environment. It explores software- based compositional and production techniques, specifically focusing on Ableton Live, Logic Pro, and Pro Tools. It also introduces basic audio capture, microphones, and signal processing.
