This large, hybrid ensemble of 11-15 musicians focuses on arrangements of sample-based hip-hop, pop, electronica, and other popular, contemporary repertoire, rearranged for new instrumentation variations based on the recordings that their samples were derived from. Examples include horn section samples re-orchestrated and charted for live horns and programmed drums re-orchestrated for live drummers and percussionists. This ensemble also performs original works written specifically for its varied instrumentation by Composition & Songwriting students.
