Students who are members of the Percussion Ensemble study, practice, and perform percussion chamber works, including conventional and extended techniques, traditional, and found instruments, with composed and improvised elements. Repertoire is expansive, and in the past has included ragtime marimba works, Stomp-like works featuring body percussion, and more traditional, historically significant pieces. Participants must read well, and demonstrate a level of fluency and control on various percussion instruments (snare drum, marimba, hand percussion, etc.).
