Award
The Mike Elliott Scholarship is a guitar scholarship presented to an applicant at McNally Smith College.
The scholarship is renewable as long as the student achieves a grade point average of 3.0 for each semester’s work and enrolls full-time during each academic year (up to four years).
About Mike Elliott
Mike Elliott, a versatile, highly accomplished guitarist revered for his work in both jazz and country music, was a much-loved instructor at McNally Smith College of Music. His long music career included performances with the Toronto Symphony, road work with Victor Borge, recordings with Johnny Cash, and tenure with the jazz group Natural Life. Mike taught countless students from beginners to Bela Fleck. He passed away at his home in St. Paul, Minnesota on September 14, 2005 at the age of 65.
Scholarship applications are due March 1, 2010 for the 2010-2011 school year.
