This group will consist of bass, drums, guitar and keyboard plus 1-2 vocalists. Students should have basic ability to improvise, comp, and sight-read on their respective instruments. We will focus on standards from the Great American Songbook, as well as the eras of bebop, cool jazz, hard bop, fusion, and/or latin jazz. Participants will learn how to create fresh arrangements of these tunes, and student arrangements and jazz compositions are encouraged.
