More than 200 voices raised the roof of the classic Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul, on December 14 when McNally Smith College of Music presented “Sing Out!”
Four different choirs created a night of diverse choral music from around the world as part of the music college’s ongoing Venue Night Series.
Vocal department head Judi Donaghy called Sing Out! “a wonderful opportunity to hear McNally Smith’s students and faculty in songs that cross the globe. Gomampe, the Contemporary Vocal Ensemble, the MSC Singers and Sonic represent the finest vocal talents from the school and they are bound to please regardless what your musical tastes are.”
“McNally Smith College of Music’s Venue Nights Series is a chance for our great student ensembles to share their talent with their fellow students, friends, families and the rest of the community,” notes Chris Osgood, Vice President of Organizational Development and External Affairs. “Historically, they are fun and eclectic, and we are grateful for the partnerships we’ve formed with area music venues. It’s a chance for our students to shine in the “real world” and they rise to the occasion, especially with the direction and profound experience of our Voice Department Head.”
