Joe Mabbott, the McNally Smith production and recording teacher, is adding more heat to his res’. He not only recorded and mixed the new solo album for Producer Lazerbeak of Doomtree fame — due out this week — he’s a featured vocal guest along with Dessa and POS.
Mabbott will also guest on drums and vocals for the October 1 Fine Line (18+ Doors at 8:00 PM, $10.00 ) album release in Minneapolis with special guests The Plastic Constellations and Doomtree, both groups for which Mabbott has recorded, mixed and produced multiple records. The Lazerbeak band for Friday night also features Dessa on vocals, POS on samples and many more special guests.
Mabbott is back on the Billboard charts with the new Atmosphere’s EP, “To All My Friends, Blood Makes The Blade Holy,” which he recently recorded and produced. The disc hit #37 on Billboard Top 200 and was #1 on iTunes last week.
With his production career at The Hideaway Studio and his experience on the board and onstage, Mabbott’s style and skills lured many of Minneapolis’ top hip-hop and indie rock acts, immediately establishing The Hideaway is a favorite recording studio for local artists. His work with national and international touring artists like Atmosphere, Brother Ali, Cloud Cult, Golden, Heiruspecs, I Self Devine, The Plastic Constellations, 5 Mile Chase, and many others has turned The Hideaway Studio into one of The Twin Cities more reputable and successful studios.
