McNally Smith alum Cory Wong (’07 BM in Guitar Performance) recently wrapped an extremely successful tour with beloved DIY funk quartet Vulfpeck. Highlights included 2 sold out nights at the First Avenue Mainroom in Minneapolis, 3 sold out nights at both Metro Chicago and The Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto, and performances at Sasquatch Music Festival and Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
Wong also played guitar on over half of Vulfpeck’s latest release, 2016’s The Beautiful Game — including the album’s closing track, which just so happens to be named after him (see below). Vulfpeck heads across the pond in September for a run of sold out European dates.Newer: McNally Smith Presents: Art-Inspired Music and Music-Inspired Art (AIMMIA) Project, 3rd Edition
