Last weekend, McNally Smith Hip-Hop Studies faculty member and Rhymesayers artist Toki Wright was named this year’s “Best Emcee” at the 6th Annual Twin Cities Hip-Hop Awards.
In addition to being a well-known Twin Cities emcee, Wright also coordinates the only nationally accredited Hip-Hop Studies diploma program at McNally Smith College of Music and gives back to the community through his efforts to educate youth on various issues.
Held at First Avenue in Minneapolis last Friday, the annual event aims to recognize the efforts of local hip hop and R&B artists in the Twin Cities each year.
Congrats, Toki!
