Rob Shanahan is regarded as one of the best and most published photographers in the music industry. His photos has appeared worldwide in countless magazines, books, CD and DVD covers, and ad campaigns.
As part of the Artist & Industry course at McNally Smith, Shanahan will speaking in the McNally Smith Auditorium from 12-1pm this Friday (3/16). The course aims to brings bands and influential music industry professionals to campus so that students can learn firsthand from veteran professionals in the industry.
Shanahan will be performing a tune or two with McNally Smith faculty member Dave Stanoch. He will also be leading a Master Class/Q&A following the Artist & Industry class on Friday from 1:15 to 2:30pm in Room 226.
About Rob Shanahan
Since 2006, Shanahan has worked closely with Ringo Starr as his personal photographer and has assisted in coordinating a number of CD and DVD projects for Starr’s tour merchandise. He also serves as the Chief Photographer for Yamaha Music Corporation and has photographed hundreds of Yamaha endorsed artists including: Elton John, Barry Manilow, Sammy Hagar, Jason Mraz, Josh Groban, Natalie Cole, Sarah McLachlan, and many more.
In addition to photography, Shanahan also plays the drums which many say made his the first option for many of the world’s top artists due to his experience as an artist himself.
