McNally Smith College of Music had a presence of its own during the week of the Republican National Convention in downtown St. Paul. McNally Smith hosted “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” (along with The History Theatre), and showcased the city of St. Paul and McNally Smith’s artistic vibrancy.
Six key locations were identified along the streets of Downtown where McNally Smith musicians showcased their talent to the crowds of visitors from September 1-4. The spots were chosen for the high volume of anticipated foot traffic – including Seventh Place mall and the Ecolab Plaza.
With faculty and administration providing advice and support, McNally Smith College of Music students stepped up to the plate with suggestions and insights on how to book and promote this event, as well as how to tap into our own McNally Smith community of artists and connect to the community of Downtown Saint Paul.
