      <description>JOB PURPOSE: This position is responsible for assisting all staff in the Programming Department with a variety of departmental needs related to the Ordway produced and presented productions.


MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.	Responsible for administrative assistance with all producing and programming, including:
•	Coordinating mailings
•	Filing
•	Theatrical production assistance

2.	Responsible for assisting the Company Manager with Ordway produced productions, including the following responsibilities:
•	Assisting Company Manager and Programming Department with managing and tracking contracts for actors, stage management, creative and production personnel for Ordway produced productions.
•	Assisting Company Manager and Programming Department with managing all company transportation and accommodations.  This includes, but is not limited to, coordinating company’s ground transportation, checking company into local accommodations, coordinating company rental cars, orienting company to the Twin Cities area and Ordway facility, handling all special contractual needs (i.e. weekly maid service, gym memberships, parking permits, etc.) and general hospitality.
•	Working with Company Manager to coordinate being present and available, as needed, both during rehearsals and performances (at half-hour call) to answer or handle any company questions or needs.
•	Working with Company Manager to answer or handle any immediate company questions or needs.
•	Assisting Company Manager in coordinating and completing any and all outstanding required employment paperwork (i.e. applications, I-9 forms, etc.).
•	Assisting Company Manager with all assignments related to the management of child actors employed in Ordway produced productions (including but not limited to locating Child Guardians, completing and filing all child labor permit paperwork, and any other assignments of this nature).
•	Assisting Company Manager in coordinating any and all company requests for Artist Seats with Box Office staff.

3.	Responsible for assisting Artistic Director and Associate Artistic Director with maintaining contact file system.

4.	Responsible for assisting Artistic Director, Associate Artistic Director and Company Manager with maintaining electronic headshot file system.

5.	      Responsible for assisting Artistic Director, Associate Artistic Director and Company Manager,     with projects as assigned.

6.	Other department duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:  Currently enrolled in or recently completed a bachelor or graduate degree with a major or related course work in arts administration, theatre, or non-profit business management.
EXPERIENCE:  Prior clerical or administrative support experience in a theatre, non-profit, education or cultural environment a plus.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITY:  Proficiency in Microsoft Office for Windows preferred, and computer aptitude required.  Must possess ability to work effectively with the public; be detail oriented, flexible, and have a great sense of humor.  Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to problem solve.  Must possess an automobile in good working condition, and a Minnesota driver’s license.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED:  Computer, printer, telephone, calculator, copy machine, fax machine, and general office equipment, automobile.

      <description>JOB PURPOSE: The Development Intern assists Ordway Center for Performing Arts with various projects including event planning and coordination, donor mailings, special projects, database management, prospect research and analysis, and grant writing.  This internship offers a broad range of hands-on learning opportunities in a major development office.  

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1.	Provide event support for donor cultivation events.
2.	Research and analyze prospective donors.

3.	Provide general assistance to development staff, e.g., preparing mailings, updating and maintaining database, filing, etc.
4.	Assist with researching prospective contributors in support of staff solicitation strategies for these prospects.
5.	Provide grant writing support and data gathering.
6.	Assist with year end fundraising communications.

7.	Special projects related to Ordway history, communications with donors, and others as assigned.
8.	Other duties and responsibilities depending on general departmental needs.


QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High school diploma required.  Currently enrolled in or recently completed a bachelor degree with a major or related course work in arts administration, theatre, business, fundraising or related field.
EXPERIENCE:  Prior paid or volunteer clerical or administrative support experience in a non-profit, education or cultural environment a plus.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITY: Self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with strong interpersonal skills, customer service orientation, excellent phone manner and communication skills, ability to work well under pressure and to deadline.  Computer aptitude required, with Microsoft Office experience preferred.  Familiarity with Prologue campaign software is helpful.  Intern must be a flexible team-worker.  The intern must have excellent organizational skills and pay attention to detail.
