The Founders’ Scholarship is a scholarship program for McNally Smith College’s highest financial need applicants.
Scholarship Criteria
- Full-time students only
- Scholarships are awarded each academic year
- Scholarship amounts are generally between $1000 – $2000 per semester
- Students with a prior bachelor’s degree are ineligible
- Student must have remaining financial need to cover anticipated tuition and fees after any federal, state, school, or private grant and scholarship funding
- Must maintain good academic standing each semester to continue to receive the scholarship
The Founders’ Scholarship fund has an application deadline of May 1 each academic year. All applicants must be current students or provisionally accepted applicants to the school for the 2012-13 school year.
The federal financial aid application (FAFSA) must be received prior to May 1, 2012. There is no separate scholarship application for this program. All incoming and returning students are automatically applied. If funds are still available, FAFSA applications received after May 1, 2012 may be considered.
About the Founders
Jack McNally is a former president of the Minnesota Music Academy, a member of NARAS (National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the GRAMMY organization), and recipient of the 2000 Outstanding Musicians of the 20th Century. Jack was named to the INC 500 as chairman of one of the fastest growing organizations in the country and is listed in the Who’s Who in Executives and Professionals.
Doug Smith has worked with many music professionals to create the curriculum and develop each program the school offers. Doug is a classical guitarist, lutist, composer, and author of the 12 volume series, Doug Smith’s Classical Guitar Method (McNally Smith College of Music Press) and the best-seller Classical Guitar for Young Children. Doug’s music is recorded on the Munificent label. A graduate of Winona State University, Doug served as National Education Chairman of the Guitar Division of the American String Teachers Association. Doug serves on the board of the St. Paul Conservatory of Music.
Only incoming students are eligible for this scholarship.
