Presidential Scholarships are full or partial tuition grants awarded to students identified and nominated by McNally Smith faculty. Students who are awarded Presidential Scholarships will be of the highest level of musical potential and possess a solid academic record. Students themselves may not apply for Presidential Scholarships, and must be strongly recommended by a Department Head, Division Chair, or the Dean of Academic Affairs. These awards may go to students in any major area.
The scholarship committee, with the approval of the President, will determine recipients. All recipients will be required to participate in specific assigned ensembles and provide certain services for the college as deemed appropriate, such as performances or opportunities to represent the college as a Presidential Scholar.
Award
The Presidential Scholarships are determined on a case-by-case basis. These scholarships automatically renew every semester as long as the student achieves a grade point average of 3.0 for each semester’s work and enrolls full-time for up to eight semesters. Room and board, books, and course materials are not included.
